Microstructure
Microstructure, patented by EPFL*
Microstructure is a cutting-edge technique which replaces the screen components of a standard image with a customised motif. This technology is used to create trust documents such as bank notes, passeports, visas, ID cards or tickets. The microstructure process consists in using the entire printed surface of the document as a security feature in and of itself. It offers the advantage of being implemented directly on the press when the documents are printed.
